What we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Updated 14 October 2026
Who we are
Gharly is operated by PBS Technology and Consulting LLP (LLPIN ACP-9415), a limited liability partnership incorporated in India under the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, with its registered office at Door No. 284/25-7, Kalloor Building, Mukkam, Kozhikode, Kerala 673602, India.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean PBS Technology and Consulting LLP. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.
What we collect today
Gharly is in development and the app has not launched. Today, the only personal data we collect is what you choose to send us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of enquiry, and your message.
- Bot protection: the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical signals from your browser to tell people from automated traffic.
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to operate and secure the site.
This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
What the app will collect
When the app launches, providing the service will also involve:
- Account details: name, phone number and email address.
- Service details: the address where work is needed, descriptions and photos of the problem, estimates, and the history of each request.
- Location: your service address, and the technician's live location while they travel to you, so you can track the job.
- Payments: confirmation of payments made through our payment partner. We do not store card numbers or UPI PINs.
- Support conversations with our team or our in-app assistant.
We will update this policy and ask for your consent in the app before collecting any of this.
How we use AI
Parts of Gharly are built on Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic, PBC. When you use these features, the relevant content is sent to Anthropic's API to be processed:
- Issue triage: your description and photos of the problem, to suggest the service type and urgency.
- Estimate drafting: the technician's inspection notes, to draft an itemised estimate.
- Support assistant: your messages and the status of your request, to answer your questions.
Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. A person always stays in the loop: technicians confirm diagnoses and approve every estimate, and the assistant hands anything it cannot resolve to our team. We do not use AI to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Why we use it
We use personal data only to:
- respond to your enquiry, or assess your application to become a service partner;
- provide, operate and improve the service once it launches, including matching requests to technicians;
- keep the platform safe and prevent fraud and abuse;
- meet our legal obligations.
We process your data based on your consent, which you give when you submit the form or create an account, or for the legitimate uses allowed under Section 7 of the DPDP Act. We do not sell personal data.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers who act on our instructions: website hosting (Vercel), email delivery (Resend), bot protection (Cloudflare) and AI processing (Anthropic).
- The verified technician assigned to your request, who receives what they need to do the job, once the app is live.
- Authorities, where Indian law requires it.
Some of these providers process data outside India. We transfer data only to countries the Government of India has not restricted under Section 16 of the DPDP Act, and only under contracts that require it to be protected.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep contact form enquiries for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless an enquiry becomes an ongoing partnership or service relationship. We keep account and service records while your account is active and afterwards for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
We protect personal data with encryption in transit, access controls, and by limiting access to the people who need it.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete, update or erase your personal data;
- withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in the event of your death or incapacity;
- have your grievances addressed.
To exercise any of these, write to hello@pbstech.ai. Gharly is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data without verifiable parental consent.
Grievance Officer
For any concern about how we handle your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer at hello@pbstech.ai, or by post at PBS Technology and Consulting LLP, Door No. 284/25-7, Kalloor Building, Mukkam, Kozhikode, Kerala 673602, India. We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
